Substitute resolution approving a contract for lock box services for the Milwaukee Water Works.

This resolution approves the contract negotiated between the Milwaukee Water Works and Firstar Bank under which Firstar Bank will provide lock box services for Water Works' bill payment for a 2-year period beginning July 13, 1999 and ending July 12, 2001. For this service, Firstar Bank will receive an amount not to exceed $252.938.88. The outsourcing of water bill payment processing to a bank lock box was authorized by Resolution File Number 990328, adopted June 22, 1999.
BODY:
Whereas, The Common Council by Resolution File Number 990328, adopted June 22, 1999, authorized the Milwaukee Water Works to outsource its lock box services for payment of customer water bills; and
Whereas, The same resolution required that the final contract for outsourcing the lock box services receive Common Council approval; and
Whereas, The Water Works and Firstar Bank have come to an agreement on a contract for the provision of lock box services; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper City officials are authorized and directed to execute a contract between the Milwaukee Water Works and Firstar Bank for the provision of lock box payment services, a copy of which is attached to this file.
