This resolution will dedicate City-owned land for public street purposes to widen North 44th Street (east-side) from West Center Street to a point 555.00 feet south.

 

 

BODY:

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee, under the jurisdiction of the Board of School Directors, is the owner of certain lands known as Washington High School; and

 

Whereas, To help alleviate a parking shortage around the school, the widening of a portion of North 44th Street between West Center Street and West Clarke Street has been added to the 1999 paving program to accommodate angle parking; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the following described City-owned land hereby is set aside and dedicated for public street purposes:

 

That part of Lots 14 through 27 inclusive in Block 9 of Second Continuation of Jackson Park, a recorded subdivision, in the Southeast 1/4 of Section 14, Township 7 North, Range 21 East, described as follows: Commencing at the northwest corner of Lot 27, thence Southerly, along the west line of Lots 27 through 14 inclusive, 555.00 feet to a point; thence Easterly to a point 10.00 feet easterly of, as measured normal to, said west line; thence

Northerly, parallel to said west line, to a point in the north line of Lot 27; thence Westerly, along said north line, to the point of commencement; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is hereby directed to have a certified copy of this resolution recorded in the office of the Register of Deeds of Milwaukee County.
