Analysis
The purpose of this resolution is to confer Common Council approval, ratification and confirmation on a memorandum of understanding between City of Milwaukee negotiating team and the Joint Bargaining Unit of Local #139, IUOE, AFL-CIO, and Milwaukee District Council #48, AFSCME covering wages, hours and conditions of employment for the time period commencing January 1, 1999, and ending December 31, 2000.

Whereas, The total agreement between the city negotiating team and the Joint Bargaining Unit of Local #139, IUOE, AFL-CIO, and Milwaukee District Council #48, AFSCME for the period January 1, 1999 through December 31, 2000, has been reduced to writing; and

Whereas, A memorandum of understanding embodying the agreement reached between parties to such negotiations, a copy of which is attached to Common Council file no. 980752, and incorporated herein as though fully set forth at length, was executed subject to ratification by the Common Council; and

Whereas, The union membership has ratified the memorandum of understanding and a copy of a letter to that effect is attached to Common Council file no. 980752 and incorporated herein as though fully set forth at length; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the attached memorandum of understanding between the city negotiating team and the Joint Bargaining Unit of Local #139, IUOE, AFL-CIO, and Milwaukee District Council #48, AFSCME be approved; and, be it
