Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council File #130228 relative to acceptance and funding of the Public Health Preparedness (CDC) Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services in the amount of $311,731. The purpose of the contract is to assure that the Milwaukee Health Department is ready to respond to emergencies including terrorism, pandemic influenza, and other communicable disease outbreaks. These emergency preparedness and response efforts are intended to support the National Response Plan (NRP) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS).

Whereas, Common Council Files #130228 authorized the Health Department to accept and fund the Public Health Preparedness (CDC) Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services for the purpose of assuring that the Milwaukee Health Department is ready to respond to emergencies including terrorism, pandemic influenza, and other communicable disease outbreaks. This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $311,731; and
Whereas, the total expenditures of this program is increased by $19,898; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that application to the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept such a grant without further Common Council approval unless the terms of the grant changes as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it
