Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department accept and fund the 2013-14 CHAP (Community Healthcare Access Program) Challenge Grant from the United Way of Wisconsin in the amount of $50,000. The purpose of the project is to enhance support for The City of Milwaukee Health Department (MHD) Community Healthcare Access Program (CHAP) to assist in meeting the high demand for services due to the ACA (Affordable Care Act) Marketplace Open Enrollment.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the United Way of Wisconsin for the 2013-14 CHAP (Community Healthcare Access Program) Challenge Grant to assist in meeting the high demand for services due to the ACA (Affordable Care Act) Marketplace Open Enrollment; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 9/01/13 to 08/31/14 would cost $50,000 which would be provided entirely by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the United Way of Wisconsin is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2013 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled 2013-14 CHAP (Community Healthcare Access Program) Challenge Grant:
