Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council File #121065 relative to acceptance and funding of the Medical Assistance (MA) Outreach Forward Health Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services in the amount of $766,710 comprised of $379,205 (49%) grantor share and $387,504 (51%) City Share. The purpose of the project is to build upon The City of Milwaukee Health Department (MHD) Medical Assistance Outreach Program (MA Outreach) success, and increase program staffing to improve access to and utilization of primary and preventive health care for low income individuals eligible for services related to changes in Medicaid and Affordable Care Act (ACA) implementation.

Whereas, Common Council Files #121065 authorized the Health Department accept and fund the Medical Assistance (MA) Outreach Forward Health Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services for the purpose of improving access to and utilization of primary and preventive health care for low income individuals eligible for changes in Medicaid and ACA. This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $339,125 (49%) and City Share of $358,295 (51%) for a total of $697,420; and
Whereas, the total expenditures of this program is increased by $69,290 ($40,080 Grantor Share) for a total of $766,710 of which the grantor share is $379,205 (49%) and city share is $387,504 (51%); now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that application to the State of Wisconsin Division of Health Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept such a grant without further Common Council approval unless the terms of the grant changes as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2013 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amount for the project titled Medical Assistance (MA) Outreach Forward Health Grant:
