Substitute resolution relative to changes in the 2013 HUD funding for Community Development Block Grant, and HOME Investment Partnership Program.

Body
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee on 10/16/12 approved the anticipated HUD funding awards for 2013 as follows: CDBG $14,350,000 and HOME $4,200,000; and

Whereas, The Community Development Grants Administration (CDGA) was notified by HUD that the actual 2013 funding award would be as follows: CDBG $15,225,290 and HOME $4,412,594; and

Whereas, The increase for CDBG is $875,290, and the increase for HOME is $212,594. Refer to Attachment A and B for specific allocation details; and

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee previously approved under file number 120693 the 2013 CDBG Entitlement award for Youth Services to Latino Community Center in the amount of $30,000; and

Whereas, The Latino Community Center has notified Community Development Grant Administration (CDGA) of their decision to close the organization; and

Whereas, CDGA recommends the award of the 2013 CDBG Entitlement funds from Latino Community Center be awarded to Career Youth Development, Inc. for the activity of Youth Services - Warning Basketball in the amount of $30,000; now therefore, be it

Resolved, By The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee hereby approves the award to Career Youth Development and the additional funding to the 2013 HUD awards as stated in Attachment A and B; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Community Development Grants Administration is responsible for awarding a subrecipient contract for these approved activities; and, be it
