Title
Resolution authorizing sidewalk replacement in the Tenth (10th) and Thirteenth (13th) Aldermanic Districts and at various locations downtown and the east side.
Analysis
To provide the necessary authority for sidewalk repairs in the Tenth (10th) and Thirteenth (13th) Aldermanic Districts and various locations downtown and the east side.
Body
Whereas, It is necessary and in the public interest to replace those sidewalk stones which are cracked, broken, out of grade or otherwise a hazard to pedestrians; and
Whereas, It is proposed that sidewalk replacement work be done in the following locations at the indicated cost:
Area bounded by North 64th Street/West Avondale Boulevard, West Center Street, North 68th Street, and West Burleigh Street in the 2nd Aldermanic District; Area bounded by West Oklahoma Avenue, South 13th Street, West Morgan Avenue, and South 20th Street in the 13th Aldermanic District; and various locations downtown and on the east side (ST230130145); and
Whereas, Funds have been encumbered and thus set aside for the proposed public improvement; now, therefore be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works be, and is hereby authorized and directed to proceed to do the above described sidewalk replacement work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is hereby authorized and directed to set up $770,000 to 0333 ST230130145 and $300,000 to 0330-ST230130145; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the proper City Departments take such actions as is required of them to assess the abutting properties and collect such assessment in the manner directed by Section 115-42 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances.
