Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Project Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the Downtown to Bay View Bikeway Phase II with 80% State and Federal aid under the Transportation Enhancement fund. The estimated total cost is $467,000, of which the City’s share is $93,400 and the grantor’s share is $373,600. Construction funds for this project will be set up in future resolutions.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee requested and Wisconsin Department of Transportation approved, Transportation Enhancement funding to complete the construction of Phase II of the Downtown to Bay View Bikeway project; and

Whereas, Construction for the project is currently scheduled for 2014 and construction funds for the project will be included in a later resolution; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute a Project Agreement for the Downtown to Bay View Bikeway Phase II, Transportation Enhancement funding for the project construction; and, be it

Further Resolved, The City Engineer is hereby authorized to approve and make periodic payments to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, upon receipt of invoices, for the City of Milwaukee’s share of the costs to the project; and, be it
