Analysis
This ordinance establishes additional categories of certification in electrical and mechanical engineering systems that qualify an applicant for licensure to install burglar and security alarm systems or fire alarm systems.

For burglar alarm system installation licensure, the ordinance provides that an applicant may hold a NICET Level I or equivalent certification in electrical and mechanical systems engineering technology.

For fire alarm system installation, the ordinance provides that an applicant may hold an NTS Certified Fire Alarm Technician certification, or equivalent certification in electrical and mechanical systems engineering technology
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. Section 222-11-4-d and e of the code is amended to read:

222-11. Electrical Licenses.

4. QUALIFICATIONS FOR LICENSES.

d. Type LB License. An applicant for a Type LB low-voltage (100 volts or less) burglar and security alarm system contractor’s license or renewal thereof shall submit an affidavit to the effect that a person holding NTS Level II [[certification]]>>certified alarm technician certification, NICET Level I electrical and mechanical systems engineering technology certification or equivalent certification in electrical and mechanical systems engineering technology<
