Title
Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $291,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $6,135,760.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable. After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council. The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $291,000 with the total cost estimated to be $6,135,760.
Body
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is hereby authorized to create within the Capital Improvement Fund, Grant and Aid Projects, the necessary Project/Grant Chartfield Values for preliminary engineering for the projects (Expenditure) and transfer to any of these accounts the amount required under grant agreement and City Accounting Policy but not to exceed a 10 percent increase of the total amounts reserved for the grantor’s share and local share or $5,000 whichever is greater, as follows:
3rd Aldermanic District
N. Humboldt Blvd. - W. Clarke St. to W. Center St. (SM495130011): Combined sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $97,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.
3rd and 6th Aldermanic Districts
N. Bremen St. - E. North Ave. to E. Meinecke Ave. (SM495130009): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $155,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.
E. Meinecke Ave. - N. Fratney Ave. to N. Weil St. (SM495130010): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $169,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.
4th Aldermanic District
N. 27th St. (STH 57) - W. St. Paul Ave. to W. Highland Blvd. (ST320060701) State Project I.D. (2265-09-00): Preliminary engineering for concrete pavement reconstruction, replace all curb and gutter, sidewalk and driveway approaches, sodding and grading.

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
