Whereas, The applicant is requesting permission to construct and maintain a fence in the public right-of-way; and
Whereas, A site visit revealed the presence of a retaining wall and concrete steps that also occupy the public right-of-way; and
Whereas, Said items may only legally encroach into the public right-of-way by granting of a special privilege resolution adopted by the Common Council; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Curtiss Massey, 2210 Salem Street, Zion, IL 60099 is hereby granted the following special privileges:
1. To construct and maintain a chain link fence in the west, 14-foot sidewalk area of North 18th Street. Said fence commences at the westline of North 18th Street at a point approximately 6 feet 6 inches south of the southline of West Galena Street, then extends east 2 feet 5 inches, then extends south 36 feet, where it turns to extend back to the westline of North 18th Street.
2. To construct and maintain a set of concrete steps projecting 2 feet 3 inches into the west sidewalk area of North 18th Street. Said 3-foot 3-inch wide steps are centered approximately 91 feet south of the southline of West Galena Street.
3. To construct and maintain a concrete block retaining wall projecting 2 feet 3 inches into the west sidewalk area of North 18th Street. Said 8-inch wide wall is centered approximately 90 feet south of the southline of West Galena Street.
