This ordinance exempts nonprofit organizations from food peddler permit fees.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 74-1-2-g to i of the code is renumbered 74-1-2-h to j.
Part 2. Section 74-1-2-g of the code is created to read:
74-1. Food Peddlers.
2. DEFINITIONS.
g. "Nonprofit organization" means an organization as defined in s. 101-23.7-1-c.
Part 3. Section 74-1-5-c of the code is amended to read:
5. FEE.
c. A veteran >>,<< upon presenting proof to the city clerk that he or she satisfies the
conditions provided in [[sub. 2-i]] >>sub. 2-j<<, shall be granted a food peddler permit for one motorized, pushed, pedaled or motorized vehicle or container without payment of any fee. The veteran shall be the operator of the food peddler vehicle or carried container for which the fee has been waived.
Part 4. Section 74-1-5-d of the code is created to read:
d. A nonprofit organization, upon presenting proof to the city clerk that it satisfies the conditions provided in sub. 2-g, shall be granted a food peddler permit for one motorized, pushed, pedaled or motorized vehicle or container without payment of any fee. The nonprofit organization shall be the operator of the food peddler vehicle or carried container for which the fee has been waived.
