Title
Resolution authorizing the issuance of a street occupancy permit for work at the UW-Milwaukee School of Freshwater Science project, allowing occupancy of one-half of the roadway of East Greenfield Avenue from its eastern terminus, westerly approximately 500 feet.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes City officials to issue an occupancy permit allowing the contractor for the UW-Milwaukee School of Freshwater Sciences to occupy one-half of the roadway adjacent to 600 East Greenfield Avenue.
Body
Whereas, The UW-Milwaukee School of Freshwater Science has planned an expansion project at 600 East Greenfield Avenue; and
Whereas, The contractor will need one half of the roadway in order to stage the construction; and
Whereas, Traffic will be maintained on East Greenfield Avenue during construction; and
Whereas, The occupancy is needed from August, 2012 to May of 2013; and
Whereas, The contractor will be responsible for all required traffic control in accordance with City requirements and permits; and
Whereas, The Commissioner of Public Works may approve temporary occupancy of up to one-third of the roadway, while temporary use beyond that point must be approved by the Common Council; now, therefore be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the appropriate City officials are herby authorized to issue a permit allowing occupancy of one-half of East Greenfield Avenue from its eastern terminus, westerly approximately 500 feet, for a nine month period.
