Title
Resolution authorizing dedication of portions of City-owned property at 401 and 401 Adjacent East Nash Street for public right-of-way and authorizing conveyance of the remaining property to Compo Steel Products, Inc., in the 6th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution permits the City of Milwaukee to execute a quit claim deed to dedicate land for public right-of-way and to convey the remaining remnant to the adjoining property owner.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee (“City”) acquired two former railroad rights-of-way at 401 East Nash Street and 401 Adjacent East Nash Street on July 26, 2010 through tax foreclosure; and

Whereas, North Holton Street crosses portions of the properties through a license agreement with the former railroad operator and is suitable for dedication as public right-of-way; and

Whereas, The portion of the property east of North Holton Street is suitable for dedication as East Nash Street, which will make the street width similar to the width of other area streets; and

Whereas, The legal description of the property to be dedicated is as follows and is illustrated in Exhibit A, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File:

Parcel A: The East 35.00 feet of the North 30.00 feet of Lot 10 in Plat of the South Half of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 9 and 4 Rods Wide from the South Side of the North Half of said Section 9, a recorded subdivision, in the Northwest 1/4 of Section 9, Township 7 North, Range 22 East.

Parcel B: The North 30.00 feet of Lots 11, 12 and 13 in Plat of the South Half of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 9 and 4 Rods Wide from the South Side of the North Half of said Section 9, a recorded subdivision, in the Northwest 1/4 of Section 9, Township 7 North, Range 22 East; and

Whereas, The City Plan Commission has approved dedication of the land as public right-of-way; and
