Title
Resolution relating to City of Milwaukee appointments to the Greater Milwaukee Convention and Visitors Bureau, Inc. (dba VISIT Milwaukee).
Analysis
This resolution rescinds and recreates City of Milwaukee appointments to the Greater Milwaukee Convention and Visitors Bureau (dba VISIT Milwaukee).  Both the Mayor and Common Council President would nominate 4 members each for appointment to the bureau.  Members initially nominated would serve terms expiring on the third Tuesday in April 2014.  Thereafter, members serve 2-year terms commencing the third Tuesday of April 2014.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that File Number 960236 adopted July 12, 1996, a resolution relating to the Greater Milwaukee Convention and Visitors Bureau, is rescinded and recreated as follows:
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee shall be represented by a total of 8 representatives on the Board of the Greater Milwaukee Convention and Visitors Bureau; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the Mayor and Common Council President shall each nominate 4 members to the board; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That City members initially nominated pursuant to this resolution shall serve for a term expiring the third Tuesday of April 2014; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That thereafter, City members shall serve 2-year terms, expiring at the commencement of each new Common Council-Mayoral term and then on the third Tuesday of April two years after the commencement of the term; and be it
 
Further Resolved, That nominations for appointment shall be made no later than 60 days following the expiration of a term, and, if a vacancy occurs in such board position, a nomination shall be made no later than 60 days after the vacancy occurs.
