Title

Analysis
This substitute ordinance changes the rates of pay in the following departments:
 
Office of the City Attorney, Department of Neighborhood Services, Department of Public Works
 
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
 
Part 1. Part 1, Section 2 of ordinance File Number 110440 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
 
Under, Pay Range 2IN, add footnote "(3)" designation to the title "Fire Protection III" with the footnote to read as follows: "(3) Recruitment may be at any point in the range with the approval of the Department of Employee Relations and the Chair of the Committee on Finance and Personnel."
 
Under Pay Range 2IX, add the title "Assistant City Attorney I" with the footnote designation "(3)" to read as follows: "(3) Recruitment is at any rate in the Pay Range at the discretion of the City Attorney."
 
Under Pay Range 2MX, add the title "Assistant City Attorney II" with the footnote designation "(1)" to read as follows: "(1) Recruitment is at any rate in the Pay Range at the discretion of the City Attorney."
 
Under Pay Range 2NX, delete the title "Assistant City Attorney (1)", add the title "Assistant City Attorney III" with the footnote designation "(1) to read as follows: "(1) Recruitment is at any rate up to $127, 809 at the discretion of the City Attorney."
 
Part 2. Part 1, Section 2 of ordinance File Number 110440 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 2, 2012 - January 8, 2012):
 
Under Pay Range 1IX, delete the title "Public Works Personnel Administrator"; under Pay Range 1KX, add the title "Public Works Personnel and Compliance Manager".
 
Part 3. Part II, Section 4 of ordinance File Number 110440 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 2, 2012 - January 8, 2012):
 
Under "Salary Advancement and Salary Anniversary Dates", add the following language after the first paragraph: "The Department of Neighborhood Services is authorized to implement salary adjustments for employees meeting core competencies and certification credentials established within new career ladders in commercial and residential code enforcement, special enforcement and environmental hygiene areas."
 
Part 4.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
 
Part 5. The provisions of Parts 2 and 3 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 2, 2012 (January 8, 2012).
 
The provisions of all other parts of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.
 
Part 6.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
