Resolution approving a continuation of the Grant/Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement with the Milwaukee Board of School Directors for Police Services.
Analysis:
This resolution approves an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement (“Agreement”) between the City and the Milwaukee Board of School Directors (“Board”) for the continuation of specified law enforcement services at designated schools for the 2011-2012 school year. The Police Department will furnish fully marked police squads with 2 on-duty officers to patrol each of the areas constituting and directly surrounding schools that the Board and the Police Department mutually determine would benefit from the patrols. The police squads shall patrol these areas during the hours of 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. on each school day, and/or at such times as mutually agreed upon between the Board and the Police Department.

The Board will reimburse the City at the actual overtime rate of the officers providing the services. Total payments to the City shall not exceed $60,000 for the term of the Agreement, which extends for the 2011-2012 school year. The Agreement may be terminated without cause upon 5 days notice in writing to the other party.

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 9/1/11 through 6/12/12 would cost $60,000 of which 100% would be provided by the grantor; and
