Substitute resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Utilizing Peer Teen Advocates to Increase HPV Vaccination Rates in Adolescents Grant from the Healthier Wisconsin Partnership Program (Medical College of Wisconsin).
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Utilizing Peer Teen Advocates to Increase HPV Vaccination Rates in Adolescents Grant from the Healthier Wisconsin Partnership Program (Medical College of Wisconsin) in the amount of $58,862. The purpose of the project is to increase awareness and education of HPV Infection and ultimately increase HPV vaccination rates.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Utilizing Peer Teen Advocates to Increase HPV Vaccination Rates in Adolescents Grant from the Healthier Wisconsin Partnership Program (Medical College of Wisconsin) to increase awareness and education of HPV Infection and ultimately increase HPV vaccination rates; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 01/01/12 to 12/31/13 would cost $58,862 entirely provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Healthier Wisconsin Partnership Program (Medical College of Wisconsin) is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Ordinance 304-81; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2012 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled Utilizing Peer Teen Advocates to Increase HPV Vaccination Rates in Adolescents Grant:

Further Resolved, That the Common Council directs that the 2012 Positions Ordinance C.C. File Number 110441, should be amended as follows:
