Title
Substitute resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Cribs for Kids Grant from the United Health Foundation.

Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Cribs for Kids Grant from the United Health Foundation in the amount of $50,000 provided by the grantor. The purpose of this grant is to address the issue of infant mortality within at-risk communities by providing parents with a safe place for their infants to sleep every night. Families receive group education about safe sleep practices as well as a portable crib (Pack ‘n Play).
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds for the Cribs for Kids Grant from the United Health Foundation; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 12/01/11 to 12/31/12 would cost $50,000 provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Cribs for Kids Grant from the United Health Foundation is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2011 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects Funds, the following amount for the project titled Cribs for Kids Grant:
