This resolution authorizes the issuance of a Request for Proposals and execution of a contract for professional services for the Milwaukee Water Works for the imprinting and mailing of City of Milwaukee municipal services bills and bills for water service to suburban retail customers.
Body
Whereas, The Milwaukee Water Works is a self-financing business enterprise of the City of Milwaukee that provides safe and abundant drinking water in the City of Milwaukee and 15 neighboring communities; and

Whereas, The Milwaukee Water Works is responsible for generating and delivering the municipal services bill to City of Milwaukee residents and also directly bills customers in Greenfield, Hales Corners and St. Francis for water service; and

Whereas, The current contract for bill printing and mailing is coming to a close, and the Milwaukee Water Works seeks to contract with a qualified vendor to accept electronic transmittal of billing data, present bills to customers with options for both hard-copy by United States mail and electronic bill presentment; and

Whereas, A Request for Proposal process will enable the Milwaukee Water Works to receive services with the most appropriate technology and best value for this purpose; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to issue a Request for Proposals for professional services for the Milwaukee Water Works for the printing and mailing of City of Milwaukee municipal services bills and bills for water service to suburban retail customers.
