Analysis
This resolution authorizes City officials to issue an occupancy permit to Jim Pankow Inc. allowing the company to close a section of North 21st Street north of West Nash Street. The company will be constructing a new educational center and making other building improvements for Siloah Ev. Lutheran Church. The church facilities that will be under construction are located on both sides of North 21st Street. Closure of a section of this street adjacent to the construction sites will allow better project coordination and will ensure public safety. The section of North 21st Street will be closed from approximately the end of June until the end of the year.

Whereas, Jim Pankow Inc. is constructing a new educational center and making other building improvements for Siloah Ev. Lutheran Church; and

Whereas, The church improvements are taking place on both sides of North 21st Street north of West Nash Street; and

Whereas, It would facilitate project coordination and ensure public safety if the section of North 21st Street immediately adjacent to the construction sites on either side of the street were closed to the public during construction; and

Whereas, Church representatives have met with neighbors and have attempted to set the limits of the street closure so that their inconvenience due to the street closure is minimized; and

Whereas, All non church owned properties in the affected block will continue to have public access during the street closure; and

Whereas, The Commissioner of Public Works may approve temporary occupancy of up to one-third of public rights-of-way while temporary use beyond that point must...
