Title

Substitute resolution relating to a master list of City-controlled social media pages.

 

Analysis

This resolution directs the Information and Technology Management Division of the Department of Administration to work with all City departments to create a master list of all City-controlled social media pages.

 

Body

Whereas, The Department of Administration - Information Technology Management Division Policy and Administration section provides policy planning and research, develops and monitors information standards, and coordinates citywide initiatives among City departments; and

 

Whereas, The creation of a master list of City-controlled social media pages would help policy makers understand the extent to which City departments are using social media, how each department is developing social media content, and may reveal potential for cross-promotional opportunities; and

 

Whereas, The 2026 Budget was adopted by Common Council File Number 250001 on November 7, 2025; and

 

Whereas, Amendment 17 placed a footnote in the 2026 Budget directing the Information and Technology Management Division of the Department of Administration to work with all departments to create a master list of all City-controlled social media pages; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Information and Technology Management Division of the Department of Administration shall work with all City departments to create a master list of all City-controlled social media pages; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Information and Technology Management Division of the Department of Administration shall transmit this information to the Common Council within 90 days of adoption of this resolution.
