Body
Whereas, The plaintiffs, Antonio Davis, Jr., Ar'Mante Davis and Ac'Quisha Davis have commenced a lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee and Officer Byron Andrews relative to an incident, which occurred on July 3, 1998, wherein Antonio Davis was shot and killed by Officer Andrews, while the officer was performing his responsibilities as a law enforcement officer; and
Whereas, The plaintiffs have offered to settle this action with the payment of $10,000.00 in satisfaction of any and all claims of all of the plaintiffs against the City of Milwaukee and Officer Andrews; and
Whereas, The City Attorney recommends to the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee to settle this claim, now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $10,000.00, payable to Antonio Davis, Jr. and Attorney John Miller Carroll, in full and final settlement of this lawsuit, upon receipt of a release of claims, approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney, said amount to be charged to the Damages and Claims Fund Special Purpose Account, Account No. 636506 0001 1490 2631 S118.2001.
