Resolution relative to the acceptance and funding of the Lifecourse Initiative for Healthy Families Grant from the Wisconsin Partnership Program - University of Wisconsin-School of Medicine and Public Health.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the Lifecourse Initiative for Healthy Families (LIHF) Grant from the Wisconsin Partnership Program - University of Wisconsin-School of Medicine and Public Health in the amount of $463,000, with a city share of $63,000 (13.6%) and a grantor share of $400,000 (86.4%). The purpose of the Lifecourse Initiative for Healthy Families Grant is to positively impact infant mortality, improve birth outcomes, and strengthen African American families and communities by strengthening father involvement in their child(ren’s) and partner’s lives by intensive, evidence-based, and participant-driven fatherhood-focused home visitation services to expectant and parenting fathers in an 11 zip code targeted area in Milwaukee.
