Title
Resolution authorizing area-wide and scattered sites sidewalk replacement at various areas and appropriating funds for these purposes with the city construction cost estimated to be $1,825,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $1,825,000.
Analysis
To provide the necessary authority for sidewalk repairs at various areas. The City cost of these projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $1,825,000. The total estimated cost of these projects is $1,825,000.
Whereas, It is necessary and in the public interest to replace those sidewalk stones which are cracked, broken, out of grade or otherwise a hazard to pedestrians; and
Whereas, It is proposed that sidewalk replacement work be done in the following locations at the indicated cost:
8th, 10th and 11th Aldermanic Districts
Area bounded by S. 20th St., W. Oklahoma Ave., S. 35th St., and Kinnickinnic River; and Area Bounded by N. Hi Mount Blvd., W. Vine St., N. 55th St., and W. Lloyd St.; and schools located at 6215 W. Warnimont Ave. and 6701 W. Eden Pl. (ST230240101) File Number 231298: Laying concrete walk. Doing all necessary grading pertaining to said work. (Assessable Sidewalk Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $155,000; Nonassessable Sidewalk Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $745,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $900,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2024 construction season.
ADA ramps for 2024 Area wide sidewalk repair areas (ST216240110): Replace curb and gutter and sidewalk as necessary (Nonassessable High Impact Paving Fund -- $175,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $175,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2024 construction season.
