Substitute resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of a 1998 Job Training Partnership Act/SYEP Grant.
ANLS:
This resolution authorizes the Dept. of City Development's Office of Employment and Youth Services to apply for, accept and fund a Grant project/ program from the Step-Up program of the Private Industry Council of Milwaukee County in the amount of $114,628 with a City share of $3,247 (3%) and a grantor share of $111,381 (97%). The purpose of the project/program is to fund positions in the 1998 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). The Private Industry Council's Step-Up program is funded primarily by the federal Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA), under CFDA Number 17.250.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Private Industry Council of Milwaukee county for its Summer Youth Employment Program; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project/program from June 8, 1998 to October 30, 1998 would cost $114,628 of which $3,247 (3%) would be provided by the city and $111,381 (97%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Private Industry Council of Milwaukee County is authorized and the Office of Employment and Youth Services shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Encumber in the parent accounts of the 1998 Special Revenue Accounts-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project/program title 1998 JTPA/SYEP:
