Resolution approving an extension of the Ambulance Service Plan for the Citywide Emergency Medical Service System.
Analysis
This resolution approves a three-month extension of the current Ambulance Service Plan for the Citywide Emergency Medical Service System for the period commencing January 1, 2008, and ending March 31, 2008, or until a contract for ambulance service between the City of Milwaukee and ambulance service providers is developed and approved, whichever is less. The plan has already been extended for 2 one-year periods; the original expiration was December 31, 2005. The terms and conditions of this service plan as specified in File Number 060983 (extending the plan for 2007) remain unchanged.

Whereas, On December 12, 2006, the Common Council adopted File 060983, approving a one year extension of the Ambulance Service Plan for the Citywide Emergency Medical Service System for the period commencing January 1, 2007, and ending December 31, 2007, or until a contract for ambulance service between the City of Milwaukee and ambulance service providers is developed and approved, whichever is less; and
Whereas, It is necessary to continue to extend the plan, pending approval of a contract for ambulance services between the City of Milwaukee and the ambulance service providers; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Common Council approves the extension of the current Ambulance Service Plan for the Citywide Emergency Medical Service System for the period commencing January 1, 2008, and ending March 31, 2008, or until a contract for ambulance services between the City of Milwaukee and the ambulance service providers set forth in Resolution File Numbers 051031 and 060983, is developed and approved, whichever is less.
