Analysis

This resolution authorizes payment to Cannon & Dunphy, S.C. in the amount of $185,000.00, related to the Milwaukee Circuit Court Case Number 25-CV-846, Fred Miller, et al. v. City of Milwaukee

Body

Whereas, the Plaintiff, Fred Miller, has filed a lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee, by and through his attorney, arising from a motor vehicle accident involving a City vehicle on January 4, 2021; and

 

Whereas, counsel for the parties have reached an agreement to settle the above-referenced lawsuit for a total amount of $185,000.00, inclusive of all fees and costs, subject to approval by the Common Council; and

 

Whereas, the City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to pay this claim: now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $185,000.00 payable to the order of Cannon & Dunphy, S.C. Client Trust Account, 595 North Barker Road, P.O. Box 1750, Brookfield, WI 53008 as soon as practicable; and so be it

 

Further Resolved, that in compliance with the City Attorney’s direction, the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue City checks as soon as practicable, in full and final settlement of all claims arising from the motor vehicle accident, to be charged as follows: to the Damages and Claim Fund Account No. 001-S118-006300, and so be it.
