Analysis
This ordinance amends code provisions to clarify the authority and duties of the chief information officer, the department of administration-information technology management division, and city departments. It provides for establishment of citywide information technology policy making and standards, and coordinating citywide information technology strategic planning, budgeting, project management and performance measurement through the chief information officer. The ordinance also expands the responsibilities of the city information management committee to include review and approval of the citywide information technology strategic plan submitted by the chief information officer pursuant to the ordinance. The information management committee is also expanded by adding 3 members, the commissioner of public works, and the fire and police chiefs.
