Analysis
This resolution will result in the sale of a vacant, tax-deed lot.
Body
Whereas, Akeem Rashad and Annie R. Mitchell-Rashad have offered $50 to purchase 1612 West Walnut Street; and
Whereas, The Department of City Development recommends sale in an "as is" condition without representations or warranties including but not limited to soil quality and subsurface condition and acceptance of Mr. and Ms. Rashad's Offer contingent upon the following:
1. Submittal, review and approval of full site plans by the Department of City Development.
2. The deed will contain a one-year reversionary clause expressly stating that if improvements are not complete within a one-year timeframe, the property will automatically return to the City of Milwaukee's ownership with no further Common Council action required; and
Whereas, The City Plan Commission has determined that said lot is surplus to municipal needs; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that said lot is declared surplus; and, be it
Further Resolved, That Mr. and Ms. Rashad's Offer to Purchase is accepted and that the proper City officials are authorized and directed to perform such acts as necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution with the proceeds from the sale being credited to the Reserve For Tax Deficit Fund Account No. 0001-334106.
