Substitute resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Fetal Infant Mortality Review Grant from the Black Health Coalition.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Fetal Infant Mortality Review Grant project from the U.S Health Resources and Services Administration through the Black Health Coalition in the amount of $100,000 grantor share. The purpose of the project is to resume the interdisciplinary review of infant deaths occurring in the City of Milwaukee to identify opportunities to reduce infant mortality and support families at risk.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration through the Black Health Coalition of Wisconsin for the interdisciplinary review of infant deaths occurring in the city of Milwaukee to identify opportunities to reduce infant mortality and support families at risk; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from June 1, 2007 to May 31, 2008 would cost $100,000 entirely provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Black Health Coalition of Wisconsin is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2007 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Project fund, the following amounts for the project titled Fetal Infant Mortality Review Grant:
