THE CHAIR questioned whether all members of the Common Council had read the report and recommendations by the Utilities and Licenses Committee. Ayes: 16 - Ald. Pratt, D'Amato, Henningsen, Schramm, Johnson-Odom, Gordon, Frank, Richards, Butler, Scherbert, Witkowiak, Pawlinski, Breier, Murphy, Hines and President Kalwitz. Noes: 0. Excused: 1 - Ald. Nardelli. THE CHAIR questioned whether any of the applicant or their counsel was present and wished to address the Council. Neither were present. ALD. GORDON moved to adopt the recommendations of the Uttilities and Licenses Committee Report. The motion prevailed. Ayes: 16 - Ald. Substitute motion to approve recommendations of the Utilities and Licenses Committee relative to denial of the rooming house license issued to Dora Gral for the premises located at 746 N. 24th Street, in the 4th Aldermanic District.
ANLS:
This substitute motion denies the rooming house license of Dora Gral for the premises located at 746 N. 24th Street.
BODY:
Whereas, The Hearing Examiner held an evidentiary hearing on the complaint of Alderman Paul Henningsen on November 23, 1998, and the Utilities and Licenses Committee held a hearing on December 7, 1998, relative to the renewal of the rooming house license of Dora Gral for the premises located at 746 N. 24th Street; and
 
Whereas, The Utilities and Licenses Committee, after reviewing the Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law of the Hearing Examiner, voted unanimously (5 ayes, 0 noes) to recommend denial of said license; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, That the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, hereby accepts the recommendation of the Utilities and Licenses Committee to deny the rooming house license of Dora Gral the premises located at 746 N. 24th Street based on aldermanic objections. DFTR: MAL:crr 970526 12/7/98 Gral
