This resolution approves vacation of two small remnants of former street right-of-way at the Northwest corner of North Van Buren Street and East Lyon Street. Approval of this vacation will allow for the assembly of this property with adjacent former street right-of-way which was vacated under Common Council File No. 951592, adopted on June 4, 1996 to allow for the redevelopment of this property for a 45-unit condominium development.
BODY:
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee desires to vacate unimproved right-of-way adjacent to Lot 3 in the Fractional West 1/2 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 21, Township 7 North, Range 22 East, or Gammon Float plus the unimproved right-turn bypass at the Northwest corner of East Lyon Street and North Van Buren Street; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the following described portion of said street right-of-way to-wit:
The unimproved right-of-way adjacent to Lot 3 in the Fractional West 1/2 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 21, Township 7 North, Range 22 East, or Gammon Float plus the unimproved right-turn bypass at the Northwest corner of East Lyon Street and North Van Buren Street is vacated for the reason that the same is of no public utility and the public interest requires the same to be vacated; and, be it
Further Resolved, That as provided by Section 80.32(4) of the Wisconsin Statutes, such vacation shall not terminate the easements and rights incidental thereto acquired by or belonging to any county, town, village or city,...
