Resolution directing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a document titled “1st Revision State/Municipal Agreement for a State-Let Highway Project” with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming, design, real estate acquisition, and construction of Prospect Avenue (STH 32) from East Wells Street to East Bradford Avenue.
Analysis
This resolution directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a State/Municipal Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming, design, real estate acquisition, and construction of Prospect Avenue (STH 32) from East Wells Street to East Bradford Avenue. The State/Municipal Agreement provides for 75 percent Federal and State aid and 25 percent local cost sharing for preliminary engineering, and 100 percent Federal and State aid for real estate acquisition. The total estimated cost of this project is $33,160,000 with a City share of $7,455,750 and a grantor share of $25,704,250. Construction funds for this project will be included in future resolutions.

Whereas, A project agreement has been requested and received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) to be executed by the City of Milwaukee for the programming, design, real estate acquisition, and construction of Prospect Avenue (STH 32) from East Wells Street to East Bradford Avenue with Federal and State aid under the State Highway Rehabilitation Program; and
Whereas, The Department of Public Works shall notify the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee of project cost overruns and changes in scope approved by the Department of Public Works; and
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee recognizes that the City may be 100 percent liable for project cost overruns and changes in scope as approved by the Department of Public Works; and
