Analysis

This ordinance allows the department of employee relations to approve vacation accrual in excess of the established maximums for employees working on special projects or during declared emergencies.  An additional 80 hours of vacation may be accrued.  The additional vacation accrual will be placed in a transitional vacation account.  

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1. Section 350-40-5-h the code is created to read:

 

350-40. Vacations.

 

5. MAXIMUM VACATION BALANCES.

 

h. The department of employee relations may allow up to a maximum of 80 hours of vacation to accrue beyond the maximum balances provided in pars. a to g in situations where an employee is required to forego the use of vacation for a defined period of time due to a citywide project or emergency declaration under s. 6-07. This additional vacation shall be placed in a transitional vacation account as provided for in sub. 3-a-1-i.
