This ordinance will grant avigation easements to Milwaukee County for use as free and unobstructed flight paths over public schools located at 1420 West Goldcrest Avenue, 2222 West Henry Avenue, and 3666 South Clement Avenue, and approve sound insulation installation agreements.


BODY:
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. FINDINGS. In accordance with the provisions of secs. 66.048(3) and (4), Wis. Stats., (1997-1998), the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee hereby authorizes, directs and agrees that the City of Milwaukee, through the proper City officers, enter into avigation easements with Milwaukee County for the preservation for the use and benefit of the public, a right of free and unobstructed flight for aircraft using General Mitchell International Airport over public schools located at 1420 West Goldcrest Avenue, 2222 West Henry Avenue, and 3666 South Clement Avenue, and approves sound insulation installation agreements, and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee hereby finds that the area defined by the avigation easements will serve the public interest in promoting safe and convenient air travel.

Part 2. Copies of the easements and sound insulation installation agreements substantially in the same form as will be finally executed, which are hereby approved, are attached hereto and made part of Common Council File No. 971633.

Part 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
