Title
Resolution executing a Basic Life Support Services Medical Control agreement with Milwaukee County.
Analysis
This resolution approves a one-year agreement for the calendar year 2005 between the City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County. The agreement coordinates the municipal activities for providing basic life support services for purposes of medical control.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee and County of Milwaukee entered into a contract for paramedic services on August 25, 1977; and
Whereas, The current 24-month contract between the City of Milwaukee and County of Milwaukee expires on December 31, 2005 pursuant to Common Council Resolution 030990, adopted February 10, 2004; and
Whereas, The parties further wish to enter into an agreement, for a term of 12 months, from January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2005, that defines municipal and county responsibilities under the provision of basic life support services; and
Whereas, Under this agreement, the City of Milwaukee agrees to continue to schedule Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) staff during any 24-hour shift based on state staffing requirements as identified in ch. HFS 110, Wisconsin Administrative Code; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the basic life support contract between the City of Milwaukee and County of Milwaukee, a copy of which is attached to this file, is approved and the proper City officers are authorized and directed to execute the same on behalf of the City.
