This substitute resolution amends Common Council file 251240 relative to the 2026 WIC (Women, Infants, & Children) grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services. The purpose of the grant is to provide enrolled Milwaukee residents with education and support for nutrition, breastfeeding, and shared service enrollment connected to WIC and other State- and City-supported services

Whereas, Common Council File 251240 authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the 2026 WIC (Women, Infants, & Children) grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services for the purpose of providing enrolled Milwaukee residents with education and support for nutrition, breastfeeding, and shared service enrollment connected to WIC and other State- and City-supported services; and
Whereas, The grant provided for a grantor share total of $1,996,545, and a City share total of $0; and
Whereas, The Grantor share for this program is decreased by $216,268, the out-of-pocket City share is decreased by $0, and the total cost is decreased by $216,268; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81-5c; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to amend the budgeted funds within the Project/Grant parent account of the 2026 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund by the following amounts for the project titled WIC (Women, Infants, & Children):
