This substitute resolution approves and authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute an amendment to the State/Municipal Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the West Fond du Lac Avenue (STH 145) project from North 19th Street to North 36th Street. The amendment provides for the use of $1,000,000 in State funds, which are included in the 1998-1999 State Biennium Budget, for the development and construction of street related infrastructure components intended to enhance economic development. The money is to be used for items typically not standard to a roadway project. No local cost participation is required.


BODY:
Whereas, Common Council Resolution File Number 89251, adopted June 6, 1989, approved and authorized an agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT) for the improvement of West Fond du Lac Avenue (STH 145) from North 19th Street to North 36th Street with Federal/State aid; and

Whereas, Preliminary engineering activities for the improvement are underway; and

Whereas, The recent 1998-1999 State Biennium Budget allocated an additional $1,000,000 specifically for preliminary engineering and construction of West Fond du Lac Avenue and for associated economic development; and

Whereas, It is proposed that the additional allocated funds be utilized to develop and construct street related features which enhance economic development; and
