Substitute resolution appropriating up to $5,000 from the Community and Economic Development Fund for the 2026 MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit.
Analysis
This resolution appropriates up to $5,000 from the Community and Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account to fund the 2026 MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit. The appropriation will provide funding for the event to promote entrepreneurship for individuals from traditionally under-represented communities.

Whereas, The Community and Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account is used to promote the City's economic development programs and attract new industry to the city; and
Whereas, The purpose of the MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit is to support the growth of local entrepreneurship and help innovators stimulate economic development, neighborhood reinvestment and job creation; and
Whereas, The MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit has successfully connected aspiring entrepreneurs with valuable City resources, business startup workshops and mentorship from established business professionals; and
Whereas, Supporting Milwaukee’s diverse and varied entrepreneurs through the MKE Business Now Summit exemplifies a commitment to economic development and innovation and creates an environment where established and new businesses can prosper together; and
Whereas, The appropriation of up to $5,000 from the Community and Economic Development Committee Fund will be used to support the 2026 MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that up to $5,000 is appropriated from the 2026 Community and Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account No. 0001-1310-S123-006300 to the MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit; and, be it
