Minutes note: Staff planner Tim Asking stated that is a big project. The project includes keeping first-floor retail and community spaces, adding a daycare, and converting the second floor into apartments. Staff raised concerns about the proposed use of Prosoco Sure Clean light duty concrete cleaner, noting it is highly caustic and potentially too aggressive for the building's limestone. Staff recommended cleaning with water and light surfactants first and testing black stains to differentiate between soot and biological growth. Appeared Courtney Ragon (Continuum Architects) agreed to all staff conditions, including acquiring a separate masonry cleaning permit and using paint certified for brick. The commission approved the certificate of appropriateness with the specified staff conditions.
