Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works and Comptroller to execute a State Municipal Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the installation of traffic signal and geometric improvements and to fund preliminary engineering for a project on West Villard Avenue at North 60th Street and at North 51st Street in various Aldermanic Districts with a total estimated cost of $206,000, with an estimated grantor share of $185,400, and an estimated City share of $20,600. Approval of construction costs will be in a future resolution.

Whereas, Preliminary approval has been requested and received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, along with two State Municipal Agreements to be executed by the City of Milwaukee, for the installation of traffic signal improvements under the 2021 Highway Safety Improvement Project program; and

Whereas, The installation of traffic signal and geometric improvements at the intersections on West Villard Avenue at North 60th Street and at North 51st Street is anticipated to reduce the frequency and severity of crashes throughout the project corridor; and

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has submitted a State Municipal Agreement for execution by the City of Milwaukee for the design and construction of:
