Title
Substitute resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Health to negotiate and enter into lease and license agreements for use of spaces at City of Milwaukee Health Centers.
Analysis
This substitute resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Health to enter into leases or license agreements that authorize third parties such as community groups, non-profits, or MHD program partners to use spaces at Keenan, South Side, and Northwest Health Centers for public health and program purposes. These may be one-time, one-day licenses for events, or longer-term leases for co-located program partners working with MHD on key public health projects and priorities.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee Health Department acts as chief health strategist and convenes stakeholders around public health priorities in the city of Milwaukee; and
Whereas, The Health Department relies on strong partnerships with many community partners to advance the work in its community health improvement plan, Elevate MKE; and
Whereas, availability and shared capacity, as well as cooperative work with partners on critical public health topics may be enhanced through shared work space; and
Whereas, the Health Department intends to continue offering public events in and around the city including at its three health centers that will include partner organizations; Now, therefore be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Health and appropriate City officials are authorized to enter into lease or license agreements for use of spaces at the Keenan, Northwest, and South Side health centers; and, be it
Further Resolved, that such leases and licenses shall be in a form substantially similar to those in Exhibits A and B included with this file.
