Analysis
This resolution authorizes the City of Milwaukee, Department of City Development, to apply for and to accept and fund a State of Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Sustainable Urban Development Zone Program Grant for assessment and remediation of various brownfields located in the City of Milwaukee's Menomonee Valley Area, specifically the Railroad Shop Yards and the Air Line Pump Yards, and, if funds permit, several Eastern and Central Valley locations. The amount of the Grant is $971,429 with no In-Kind City Share.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee ("City") appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for assessment and remediation of various brownfields sites in the Menomonee Valley; and

Whereas, The Department of Administration, Intergovernmental Relations Division, has determined that operation of this Grant program from January 1, 2001 to June 30, 2002 will cost approximately $971,429, of which 100 percent will be provided by the Grantor; and

Whereas, The In-Kind City Share of this Grant program will be zero:

In-Kind City Share: $-0-

Out-of-Pocket City Share: $-0-

Local, Non-City Share: $-0-

Whereas, The Department of Administration, Intergovernmental Relations Division, has determined that the benefits to the City from this Grant program appear to exceed the City's share of costs and other obligations to be incurred under this program; now, therefore, be it
