- Analysis -
Currently the charter states that a majority of the members of the annuity and pension board-employes' retirement system present at any meeting is required for any decision taken by the board. This amendment deletes that provision and replaces it with one stating that any action taken by the board requires the affirmative vote of 5 of its members.
BODY:
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 36-15-5 of the charter is amended to read:
36-15. Administration.
5. DECISION VOTE. [[Each member of the board shall be entitled to one vote in the board. A majority of members present shall be necessary for a decision by the members of the board at any meeting of the board.]] >>Any action by the board requires the affirmative vote of 5 of its members.<<
Part 2. This is a charter ordinance and shall take effect 60 days after its passage and publication, unless within such 60 days a referendum petition is filed as provided in s. 66.01(5), Wis. Stats., in which event this ordinance shall not take effect until submitted to a referendum and approved by a majority of the electors voting thereon.
