Body
Whereas, Plaintiff Corday Alexander Linton filed a civil lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee, Benjamin Sanchez, Matthew Rejc, Brian Pellett, Timothy Askin, Aaron Helt, Lisa Maney, and Todd Miller alleging violations of his rights under the United States Constitution, as well as other federal and state laws; and

Whereas, The Defendants deny that any basis exists for the claims against them; and

Whereas, To avoid litigation, the Defendants reached an agreement to settle the above-referenced lawsuit with Plaintiff Corday Alexander Linton for a total amount of $43,500, inclusive of all fees and costs, subject to approval by the Common Council; and

Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious to settle this lawsuit; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper City officers are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $43,500, payable to: “Swanigan Legal Services on behalf of Corday Linton” at 425 W. Capitol Ave Ste 1533, Little Rock, AR 72201, as soon as practicable; and, be it

Further Resolved, That in compliance with the City Attorney’s direction, the proper City officers are authorized and directed to issue a check, as soon as practicable, in full and final settlement of all claims as outlined in the above-referenced action, to be charged to the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No. 0001-1490-S118-006300; and, be it
