Title
Substitute resolution approving 2002 monthly solid waste collection charges for multiunit dwellings with 5 or more units.
Analysis
This resolution approves a schedule of monthly solid waste collection charges for multiunit dwellings with 5 or more units.  These charges were determined by the commissioner of public works to be the amounts necessary for the City to achieve 100% recovery of the costs of providing solid waste collection services to such dwellings.
Body
Whereas, Section 79-2-1-b of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances directs the Department of Public Works to charge a fee to the owners of multiunit dwellings with 5 or more units to recover 100% of the cost of solid waste collection services; and
 
Whereas, This section also stipulates that the amount of the solid waste collection fee shall be determined on or before January 31 of each year by the Commissioner of Public Works, subject to approval of the Common Council; and
 
Whereas, The Commissioner of Public Works has determined the monthly charges required for 100% recovery of the current cost of providing solid waste collection services at multiunit dwellings with 5 or more units; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the following schedule of monthly charges for collection of solid waste from multiunit dwellings with 5 or more units is approved:
