Analysis
This resolution directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a project agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for programming and installation of fiber optic interconnect along STH 100 (Brown Deer Corridor) between USH 45 and North Green Bay Road (STH 57), with the portion from North 124th Street and North 68th Street located within the City of Milwaukee and STH 181 (North 76th Street Corridor) between West Florist Avenue and West County Line Road, under the State Trunk Highway Program. Approval of the agreement with the WisDOT will enable the project to be undertaken using 100 percent Federal/State aid for preliminary engineering and construction costs. The estimated total cost of the project is $2,563,750 of which the City of Milwaukee’s construction share for non-participating items is estimated to be $25,000 and the grantor share is $2,538,750. Approval for construction costs will be in a future resolution. City of Milwaukee costs for plan review, which will be funded 100 percent by the City of Milwaukee, are estimated to be $10,000.
