Analysis
This resolution rescinds and recreates resolutions authorizing donor options for the City of Milwaukee Employes Combined Giving Campaign. It stipulates the rules and conditions governing the campaign, designates the administrator for the campaign and identifies the funds that can be designated as part of the campaign. It also adds the Hunger Relief Fund, an umbrella organization of 19 of the area’s leading anti-hunger agencies, as a donor option.

Whereas, It is desirable to rescind and recreate various resolutions authorizing donor options for the City of Milwaukee Employes Combined Giving campaign; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that resolution file numbers 000527, 961269 and 970793 are rescinded and recreated to read:

The following rules and conditions shall govern the City of Milwaukee Employes Combined Giving Campaign:

1. A steering committee of city employes representing both management and union shall be designated by the Mayor to oversee the campaign. The steering committee shall represent all city departments.
2. A campaign chair and co-chair shall be designated by the Mayor, and the co-chair will succeed the chair in subsequent years.
3. The United Way of Greater Milwaukee, Inc. is designated as the administrator for the City of Milwaukee Employes Combined Giving Campaign.
4. Funds contributed by city employes by means of payroll deductions are to be used for the announced purposes of the charitable organizations.
5. Umbrella organizations are limited to United Way of Greater Milwaukee, Inc., Community Shares of Greater Milwaukee, Community Health Charities of Wisconsin and the Hunger Relief Fund; and, be it
